ED HAVENS
Ed Havens is the second oldest of five preacher's sons. The family grew up on a farm in rural Colorado in a manner in which most people today couldn't fathom. There was no running water or indoor plumbing and they used a wood burning stove to heat the house through relentless Colorado winters.
Following high school and a short time in college, he spent thirty three years in the car business. One main theme in his life though, has always been music. He has been involved in many bands but prefers to be behind the scenes running sound or producing music in his recording studio.
He continues to reside in Colorado, albeit a more urban setting, with his wife and his two dogs.
As a life-long Christian, his faith has been a journey for him. His life and his this journey are detailed in his book.
THE SHEEP SHED: AN OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE CHRISTIAN'S SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH
Growing up on a farm in rural Colorado would prove to be challenging enough. Add the layer of the son of an legalistic preacher and life was even more challenging. His relationship with his father was complicated and one of crime and punishment. A very faith driven young boy learned to believe God operated the same and his main goal became to avoid an eternity in hell. Despite that, he was one of five adventurous country boys and this book chronicles that upbringing and how his faith changed into adulthood.

Loved this book. Great book about faith, belief of The Word and how it was delivered to this preacher's son. How The Word is delivered reflected different to Ed than the way The Word was heard from my family. God Bless Ed for showing his questioning of faith and finally finding his peace within his continued faith. Just a remarkable story about a pastor's teaching The Word to his son and the way it affected Ed. Passing the book on and giving to family. Thank you Ed for your insight.

While the people and places are familiar to me, this could be the story of many a man growing up and living in Small Town America. It’s well written with universal appeal.

I couldn’t put this book down. It reminded me of how I was raised when I was a child. Openly transparent and injected with humor. I would highly recommend it.

Wonderfully written, humorous at times while also tragic, but very eye opening from someone from a younger generation. A great understanding that faith is journey for everyone.

Enjoyable Read! “The Sheep Shed” was a very enjoyable read. I loved this book very much. I bought a couple of extra copies to give to a family member and a friend. Both books were signed with a personal message by the author. Both have read their books and enjoyed very much. My family member even read it twice, and the shopping experience at your store.

Loved this book! I got my copy as soon as it came out. At that time, I was a new believer and this book helped me out tremendously with my walk with the Lord. We all have questions at that time, I think. I would definitely read this book again. Not only does it talk about the Lord, but it also makes you remember things that you did or happened to you when you were younger. My whole family has this book and my oldest son is actually reading it right now. This book is also owned and loved by a lot of people at my church. I highly recommend this for a great read.

The Sheep Shed challenges readers to question their own beliefs and embrace the transformative potential of authenticity and self-acceptance. A must-read for anyone seeking inspiration and insight into the complexities of faith, family, and the pursuit of truth.

Easy, Fun, Entertaining & Delightful read. Ed is a great story teller in his book the Sheep Shed, Ed Havens captured not only the heart and soul of Lamar, Colorado but of himself as well. His stories present, make what could have been a boring childhood, into an adventure filled life. He is good at turning a phrase and throughout the book, I found lots of reasons to laugh.
Nothing in the book is boring. It is full of adventure. And, growing up on a farm in NC, I was able to identify with much that ED said. However, his life was much more exciting than mine. I highly recommend reading The Sheep Shed.
